Our Teachers

Dr. Sukanya Sharma is a dedicated Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with a strong passion for teaching and a holistic approach to education. A graduate of Queens College and the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed her psychiatry fellowship at Maricopa Integrated Health Systems in Arizona. Dr. Sharma has played a pivotal role in shaping future mental health professionals by supervising Child Psychiatry Fellows at Valley Wise Medical Center. Over the last four years, she has also trained over 600 students through the Hindu Parents Network, where she has been instrumental in developing teaching programs for both children and parents. Her commitment to education is further evidenced by her work as a consultant at a private Montessori school and her prior service as a board member for the Infant Toddler Mental Health Coalition of Arizona.

As a practicing Hindu, Nitish Kanabar has been deeply interested in spirituality and related practices since childhood. An earnest seeker, he found deep and meaningful answers to life questions when he started studying the Bhagavad Geeta and other Dharma Granthas. As a parent of a curious middle-schooler, Nitish loves interpreting and presenting these teachings in a way that is relevant and applicable to modern life situations for both children and parents. He has taught and led Dharma study groups for the last 8 years – both in-person and online. He lives with his family in Chicago and serves as a board member of the Chicago chapter of Chinmaya Mission serving over 800 families.

A learner forever, Pallavi Amin, is passionate about education and history. Formally educated as an engineer, she worked in the corporate industry for a couple of years before doing M.A. ( Samskritam) & B.Ed. This step was the beginning of the journey of exploration of Sanatan Dharma and History. Ever since then, she has been walking this path relentlessly, learning new things daily and filling herself with experiences of life, while trying to understand it in the light of Spirituality through the readings of Sri Aurobindo & The Mother.
She has also tried her hand at Hindustani classical music and enjoys singing.
She enriched herself by being a Primary teacher for around 5 years (Conscious Education – Based on Integral Education philosophy of Sri Aurobindo) in a school in Mumbai, India and then got associated with Agastya Gurukulam, USA (Primary teacher) after moving to the USA since 2022.
She has also been part of HPN for more than a year, enjoying conducting the Beautiful Tree Program for middle schoolers in the USA.

Vagmi is a devoted mom of three with experience in virtual instruction to students of culture. She is devoted to inspiring the next generation to embrace the culture, religion, dharma as a guiding force in their lives. As a first-generation immigrant, she carries a deep connection to her Vedic roots, shaped by the philosophies of world renowned multiple organizations.
With over a decade of experience in the healthcare and education sector, Vagmi developed strong organizational, leadership, and strategic skills, which she now channels into community engagement, cultural advocacy, and governance.
Passionate about preserving and sharing timeless wisdom, Vagmi believes in meeting the younger generation where they are—blending tradition with technology and presenting dharma in ways that resonate with today’s fast-paced, globalized world. Through her work, she strives to build bridges between ancient knowledge and modern living, creating pathways for cultural continuity and spiritual growth for generations to come

Hiten Makwana is a computer scientist turned management consultant with a deep-rooted passion for Dharma, languages, and life-oriented wisdom that nurtures personal growth and helps individuals become better human beings—one step at a time.
With a unique and engaging teaching style, Hiten connects with children not just as an instructor, but as a fellow traveler on the path of learning. He lovingly refers to his students as “friends” and joins them in their journey of exploration and discovery, making learning both joyful and meaningful.
Hiten has been an active part of the Hindu Parents Network’s educational programs since 2023, contributing his creativity, insight, and warmth to empower the next generation with values rooted in Hindu Dharma.

Milind Kulkarni is a software professional and certified Yoga teacher with over six years of dedicated practice and teaching experience. He has completed a Yoga Teacher’s Diploma from the GMM Yoga Division, Mumbai, with training grounded in the traditional roots of yoga. He has been leading yoga classes in temple settings and community camps, and his practice emphasizes yoga as a holistic discipline integrating asana, pranayama, and breath awareness, with a strong focus on the mind–body connection and overall well-being.
Beyond yoga, Milind is deeply interested in complementary wellness practices that support a balanced and healthy lifestyle. His approach reflects consistency, personal discipline, and respect for yoga as a traditional system of self-development, and he believes in its ability to positively influence daily life for practitioners of all ages.
