Helping Hindu families rediscover the depth of their own tradition; one conversation at a time.
What Is DharmaWise, and Why It Matters
In today’s world, our children are surrounded by information about every culture, belief system, and historical tradition — except, often, their own. They learn about world religions in school, encounter countless perspectives online, and absorb ideas from friends, media, and social platforms. Yet many Hindu children grow up without a clear, confident understanding of their own Dharma: its philosophy, its history, and the reasoning behind the practices observed in their own homes.
This gap has real consequences. When children can’t explain why their family celebrates a festival a certain way, or don’t know how to respond to a misconception about Hindu Dharma repeated at school or on social media, they can feel disconnected from their heritage at precisely the age when identity matters most. Parents, too, often find themselves without the right language or resources to pass on what they intuitively know but have never had to formally explain — especially while raising children outside India, in a culture that rarely reflects their traditions to them.
A Visual, Walk-Through Experience
DharmaWise, created by Hindu Parents Network, is a visual exhibition designed to close this gap. Rather than a lecture or a textbook, it’s a walk-through experience: a series of thoughtfully designed posters, installed in community spaces like temples, that distill years of research into clear, accessible, and visually engaging content. Families move through it together — parents, children, and grandparents — pausing at each poster, asking questions, and talking through ideas as a family rather than absorbing information alone.
What's in the Exhibition
Each DharmaWise exhibition begins with one of four central themes, giving communities a focused, in-depth experience. These four themes serve as the introduction, and the list will be expanded in future exhibitions:
- Hindu Dharma – The core concepts of Hindu Dharma, major deities, their symbolism, and significance of common practices for Hindu homes.
- Hindu History – India’s civilizational journey, inspiring personalities, and contributions that are often overlooked.
- Misconceptions about Hindu Dharma – Straightforward answers to the questions and misconceptions about Hindu Dharma and history that our kids face daily in school, society, and social media.
- Conscious Hindu Parenting – Practical guidance to help parents raise confident, thoughtful, and well-informed Hindu children in today’s world.
